It just kills me to see overweight dogs. Just a few years ago, Doxie was a pot belly. When Dudley was put on a diet, so was Doxie. I made the food at home and mixed in the kibble. Most of this diet consists of vegetables.
The Veterinarian gave me a list of Ying/Yang foods. This is the guideline we went by. These were the only foods I cooked and incorporated into their diet. Within a few months Doxie went from 22 lbs to 15 lbs.
If you have a Dachshund doggie, you know they Love to eat. Giving them the proper treats are also key, and not too many in one day.
I know, I know, giving our dogs treats is one way to show them we love them. It’s also a quick way to say goodbye to them living longer. I prefer to have my babies around for as long as I can stretch it out. Over the years I’ve found a few Great items and ideas I’ll be sharing, including the water they drink and the things in life they are exposed to.
